Creating 360° Virtual Experiences by Combining Immersive Digital Realities with Alumni Magazine
Opportunity
To celebrate the University's 150th anniversary, our customer wished to add a memorable and unique touch to their bi-annual magazine that targets alumni, friends and the university community.
ColorArt Solution
ColorArt brought a unique solution to the client. We arranged a “lunch and learn” session with the University marketing and communications team, and a presentation by ColorArt Digital on augmented reality and how it could be incorporated into the printed magazine.
In thinking about how to celebrate memories spanning 150 years, the school’s creative and editorial director wanted more than just words-- she wanted to include sights, smells, and sounds. What better way to engage these senses than through multiple AR experiences attached to these memories?
Results
The school’s team scoured the archives, reviewed video footage old and new for the publication to both bring back old memories and create new ones. For example: they were able to include a 360-degree experience of a class for their newest building, since 75+% of their alumni had not yet visited.
The university provided a total of 36 AR experiences through the publication, and pointed its readers online to read about the experiences and memories in full.
